Denver Review

I'm out in Colorado all this week, staying on the outskirts of Denver while the CFSR team conducts the Denver Child Welfare Review. Review days are long -- from around 7:30 in the morning to about 8:30 at night -- and I spend most of that time waiting for something to go wrong with the automation and then attempting to troubleshoot the problem. By the time I make it back to the hotel, I'm pretty worn out, so that means I haven't seen much of the area. I was able to catch up with a friend Sunday night, and I do have a view of the Rockies from my hotel room ... so that's something.

Stewart, Cramer and Accountability

The "conclusion" of the "feud" that started on the 4th. Stewart is smart (as we've known for a long time), and funny because he's so smart, but this is one of those episodes where he puts the funny aside to make some serious and important points. I'll give Cramer props for having the guts to walk into what he had to know would be a massacre. I hope he takes something away from this and makes some changes.

When I First Knew Neeson was Burly

Holy crap ... Hulu has Rob Roy! Great movie, but not for the faint-of-heart. Disturbing, violent, and very Scottish.

Jon Stewart Pounds Economic Experts

Reliably hilarious, insightful, and true. Makes you just want to smack the economists into shamed silence.

Current Programs of Choice

I had to reformat my laptop today (internet connectivity issues). In the process, I made a quick list of the programs I use most often so that I could add them back after the reformat. I thought I'd offer the list here in case friends or family are curious. Here are my "must" programs:

Richmond Snow Storm of March 09

Turns out, we actually did get quite a snow storm last night. I went out last night and again early this morning to take a few pics.

How the Snow Started

This is how the snow started, around 5pm or so. If it keeps up through the night, as the forecasters are predicting, should make for a blanketed Richmond in the morning.

Dolls in the DVR

Last week's Dollhouse is still sitting in my DVR, waiting for me to watch it. I completely identify with this comic.
